About

Hi, my name is SJ Kwon.

I’m a licensed architect who firmly believes that a design practice should be as thoughtful as the works it produces.

My architectural practice has whisked me through a range of projects, from cozy residences to bustling commercial spaces. I've also had the privilege of collaborating with stellar teams at remarkable firms like HWKN, Corgan, and Ennead. Together, we've shaped the landscape of iconic places like Pennovation Works at UPenn, WeLive Co-living Unit, LaGuardia Airport Terminal C, Tech HQ Campus in Shanghai, and Inova Oakville Health Center. Currently, I'm an architect at Tesla, where we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

When I’m not designing as an architect, I enjoy writing about places, talking about practice and joking about products. My journey has led me from the vibrant streets of Seoul and the cool Canadian cityscape of Calgary to the electric energy of New York. Now, I'm savoring the flavors of Austin's tacos and soaking up its rich culture.

Join me on this exciting journey through architecture, where we'll turn imagination into reality, one design at a time.
